What: Extensions are the tools that connect Gemini to other apps and services you rely on, letting you pull information and complete tasks directly from Gemini. Users accessing the Gemini app as a core service via their Google Workspace subscription or a Gemini for Workspace add-on can now use the Calendar, Keep and Tasks Workspace extensions in Beta in order to take actions, such as scheduling meetings, directly from the Gemini app.

Why: Extensions help provide more contextual and relevant responses to your prompts and take certain actions, enhancing productivity and collaboration with the Gemini app.
